ODB 1.1 Release Candidate 5 -- Monthly Check error

I've downloaded ODB 1.1 and copied the other two files over. Now when I open ODB I get hung up at the "Monthly Check for new ODB version..." screen. Then it says "Unable to connect to server." That's strange because I have an internet connection. When I hit "Cancel" I'm able to get into the database using the ODB 1.1 version.
How do I fix the hang up?

Thanks for the feedback.
This is an issue with your firewall... we are going to eventually change the method of connecting to the server but in the interim you can turn the monthly check off.

Click on the wrench, then type "autocheck" in the search box, click find, and you will see the setting that allows you you to turn the checking off.
