Customizing mailing labels

We would like to customize the contents of our mailing labels. Specifically, we want to put an indicator on the label for constituents who we feel might no longer be interested in receiving mailings. Our newsletter would then tell people that if they have such an indicator, they should contact us if they want to remain on our mailing list.

Does anyone know how to do this with ODB? I think I probably can fudge it in the database, but I'd rather do it within ODB.

Hi Shelley -- Yes this is

Hi Shelley --

Yes this is already in ODB.

Just do a search in the settings area for "extrafirst" and you will see the settings for this.

Basically we have the capability to merge any DB field into an additional first line on your mailing label.

It might be hard to automate this because ODB does not support calculations in this line, but you could have it display the contents of a user defined field by having [user1] appear there. In the future we could add a checkbox user defined field to make this easier...
