Exporting for later merging of People via import

Is there a way to export with People records with the record ID so that the exported records can be modified externally and then re-merged back into the ODB database? The export part seems to be there, but I can't see how to do the import part.

The people ID is included as an export field if you chose the "extended export" option. It is labeled "ID".
