Dear ODB Users:
The new 1.0.2 version of ODB is out and it will be on display tomorrow at the NTEN.org conference in DC! If you are attending this conference of nonprofit technology professionals, come check us out at the "Science Fair."
We have also released the program source code at Sourceforge, in accordance with our open source (GPL) software license.
I have to say it has been a challenging month as we have about 8 gazillion new ODB users and that has meant people have gotten into the nooks and crannies of the software and uncovered lots of little bugs. And a couple of big ones too. The good news is we discovered the cause of a rare crash when ODB finds a duplicate; we discovered the most common problems where import error handling fails. Also the very first organization to adopt ODB, way back in 2001, got an early version of this release and discovered a major printing flaw that is now corrected. The only major bug we did not address was the 'occasional tiny printing' issue. We'll get to it; see the forums for a workaround.
The good news is that the release also provides some really useful featur enhancements: for instance:
* option to have fixed reply slip donation levels
* option to have a default printing format
* custom field labels for the term 'groups' throughout the software
* option to require payment subcategory, appeal code
* option to have the gift comment appear in thank you notes
